In 2015/16, we received £8,286 to develop PE and Sport in our school.

So far the funding has been used to:

  • Provide the new KS1 scheme of work for Lancashire and relevant training for staff.
  • Maintain staff development.
  • Continue our membership of South Ribble School Sport Partnership (SRSSP), in order to work alongside specialist coaches and receive further support in the development of PE and Sport in our school, building upon skills learnt last year e.g. Cricket, rugby, tennis and gymnastics.
  • Extend our use of specialist coaching to KS1 – invasion games and dodge ball.
  • Further develop our provision of extra-curricular Sports clubs after school, led by specialist coaches e.g. dodgeball, street dance, Zumba and handball.
  • Continue our commitment to school competition through entering more competitions. The funding has helped to provide resources, training to help prepare for the competitions and transport to and from the venues e.g. Tag rugby festival and competition, sports hall athletics
  • Increase participation in intra and inter school sports competition.
  • Subsidise clubs that occur a cost.
  • Set up a School Sports Council to promote sport through school.

  • KS1 children have received specialist coaching thus widening their experiences and developing their skills to a higher level.
  • We were awarded the School Games Silver Award for 2015-16
